Thomas Jefferson
00:02
The very first democratic-republican
00:06
MAIN FOCUS: I chose to do my project on Thomas Jefferson because he fought for his political party and for the rights of the people for equality. His political party was democratic republican party.
00:10
The democratic party was created by Jefferson himself in 1792. The main goal of this political party was to revolt against the Federalists party because the creation of a strict central government made many citizens afraid that this new government would have too much power over the people.
00:16
Washington wanted both Hamilton and Jefferson to be his advisors was because they both had different ideas on how the country should be run.
00:18
Hamilton wanted to run the government with a strong financial system and wanted  the government to have more control
00:20
While Jefferson wanted more rights to protect the people and that the citizens would have an equal say
00:24
George Washington did not want political parties in our nation was because in his final address he mentioned if political parties were created it would only divide our nation and he attempted to form a government that was above partisan ties and petty squabbles.
00:30
The democratic-republican is mostly similar to the democratic party in the world today. The reason behind this statement is because today the democratic is fighting to provide Americans a fairer and brighter future for all Americans.
00:34
The two parties are similar in a way because they both fight for the people and they both want to make America better for everyone. Then again they are different because the republican party in the world today is more focused on providing a more financial stable America where we all can achieve the American dream, while the democratic republican party was more focused on providing the people with a chance for equality.
00:40
The democratic-republican party helped create our nation today because if the democratic party was never created it would have never  inspired future generations to fight on for the equality of the people and it would have never inspired presidents to protect the people and their rights for equality and fair say in government.
00:44
The democratic- republican helped divide the parties because with the creation of this party it helped establish two parties that helped lead the nation into an era of equality. One example of this was during the Civil Rights movement when all African American citizens fought for their independence and their right to vote.
00:50
It also helped bring the Country back to a stat of stability during the Great Depression and with the new generation learning from the Democratic-Republican party. It helped many people make a profit and helped them survive.
00:55
The final example regarding how the democratic-republican party is used in the world today is now in the present when the war with Russia and the Ukraine continues. From learning from this party we are currently helping the Ukraine with battle with Russia to make the world safer and more protected.
