D047 is the most frequently used antifoam
Low cost (depends on location)
Effective in most situation
D046 is composed of highly absorbent inorganic filler materials treated with liquid antifoam material
High surface area
D046 and D047 must be present in the system before mixing
Not active as defoamer
D047 should be well dispersed in the mix water (flow temp.)
Post-addition of D047 may stabilize foam (e.g. D191 systems)
D046 has to be dry-blended

D046 and D047 use is not recommended in slurries that contain large amount of salt (more than 2% BWOW)

Silicones : D175A, D206
00:30
Applications: SALTBOND slurries and any systems containing more than 2% salt BWOW
In salt-saturated systems: only efficient antifoam agents
GASBLOK and WELBOND systems: D175A and D206 are very efficient and must be used

Recommended amounts of D175A / D206
• 1 to 4.5 L/t [0.01 to 0.05 galUS/sk] in SALTBOND slurries.
3 to 10 L/t [0.03 galUS/sk to 0.1 galUS/sk] in GASBLOK and WELBOND slurries.
1 to 1.8 L/t [0.01 to 0.02 galUS/sk] in all other applications for foam prevention.
2.5 L/m3 [0.1 galUS/bbl] in MUDPUSH spacers

B411
00:42
• Environmentally- friendly oil-based antifoam agent
• Previously coded B411 for use in the north sea
• Works as an foam preventer
• Effective antifoam with most cement slurry and chemical washes
• Does not affect slurry properties
• Incompatible with GASBLOK Additives, D600G, D700, D701
• Performance severely altered when used in chemical washes, combination with surfactant D191.
Concentration ranges 1 – 5 ltr/tonne (0.01 to 0.05 galUs/sk) of cement
