1" Zurns Wilkins Backflow 1" Pack Joint Adapter Poly Stiffener 1" Galvanized Unions 1" X 4" Galvanized Nipples 1" Galvanized Street Elbow 1" X 18" Galvanized Nipples

1. Take the teflon in your right hand. Wrap the teflon clockwise 3 full times around the threads of all the nipples and the street elbows leaving the 1st threads free of teflon (see illustration)

Once you put the materials together the backflow will look like this image and be ready to install. Do not over- tighten the threads. Tighten hand first and then turn the fitting 1 full rotation. This should be sufficient depending on your strength.

Installing the Backflow

Locate the poly pipe next to the homes foundation Open the connection until the pipe it free of debris Dig a hole 1' down from the existing grade Cut the pipe down 6" from the existing grade Install the Pack Joint & Joint Stiffner correctly on the pipe Tighten the Pack Joint with the Channel Locks
