Cell membrane
00:08
00:08
An example of cell membrane would be the border of a city, it's designed to protect everything inside the barrier (city). It also accepts helpful things to pass through it, for example food and supplies to help the city grow.

Cell membrane
00:16
Cytoplasm
00:16
The residents and homes fill the city. The people and houses represent the cytoplasm because the cytoplasm fills the cell like our people fill the city.
00:22
Nucleus
00:22
The nucleus is the center of the cell, the brains of the operation . The center of the city is the city hall, that would be a good representation of the nucleus because the hall also acts as the decision maker, all information/ activity goes through the nucleus/city hall.
00:29
Endoplasmic Reticulum
00:29
The endoplasmic reticulum is an organelle that packages and stores protein the feeds the cell. In the city factories store and package our food items.
00:35
Ribosomes are small food producing organelles just like farms that produce food for our city
00:35
Ribosomes
00:39
Golgi bodies
00:40
These organelles functions are packaging, labeling and delivering proteins inside and outside the cell. Just like our mail delivery systems.
00:44
Mitochondria
00:44
The mitochondria is the energy center of the cell. The windmill farm is similar to this organelle because they both produce energy.
00:50
Vacuoles
00:50
These organelles store extra food or waste our city uses ware houses to store extra goods just like a cell uses vacuoles.
