The Juran Trilogy
00:03
According to Dr. Joseph M. Juran, there are 3 components of process improvement:
00:07
a. Planning - starts with external customers which are determined in marketing. There are numerous external customers making pareto diagrams useful in determining the vital few. b. Control - used by operating forces in meeting the product, process, and service requirements and uses feedback loop. Statistical process control (SPC) is for achieving control: histograms, control charts, and scatter diagrams. c. Improvements - aims to achieve levels of performance that are significantly higher than current levels.
