Similar to the stairway Jacob saw in his dream, heaven is depicted
as both a city and a bride that descends from God's celestial kingdom
and touches down on earth. John referred to the city-bride as the
"new Jerusalem" because it was so magnificent that he could only describe
it in terms of brilliant stone.
The New Earth is our final destination, our forever home,
in accordance with the book of Revelation.
It will be earth as God originally intended it to be
but without the curse of sin,
wherein the new earth is free from sin, evil, sickness,
suffering and death.
