Daedalus is well known mortal, genius inventor, and talented craftsman.

Worried that his nephew could be more skilled than himself,he murdered his own nephew, thus being banned from Athens and making his way to Crete.

Meanwhile, in Crete Pasiphae ends up falling in love with King minos' sacred bull

So Pasiphae comes to Daedalus and asks him to build her a contraption to disguise herself around the bull

Daedalus agrees and gets to work

Needless to say, the contraption Daedalus built for Pasiphae worked, and she gave birth to a minotaur

Then, King Minos commands Daedalus to build an inescapable maze beneath the palace to hold minotaur until it is prophesied to die

After Daedalus finishes the maze, King Minos imprisons Daedalus and his son Icarus at the top of the tallest tower on the Island

Once Daedalus and Icarus reach the top of the tower Deadalus starts thinking of a plan

His plan is to construct two pairs of wings, out of feathers and wax so they can escape

Daedalus warns Icarus not to fly too close to the sun as it will melt the wax and the wings will fall apart

Icarus did not listen to his fathers advice and he flew too close to the sun

Daedalus was left with no choice but to watch his son fall into the ocean
