The Christmas Bird Count
00:09
The christmas bird count is organized by the Audubon Society and is conducted by birders from all around the USA
00:16
-During this project each bird count is 15 miles away from the "circle" which is considered the zone. Each circle has an expert in bird watching who writes down all the data and reports it. This data is gathered by volunteers who observe the circle. After, the data is organized and collected by the National Adubon Society to produce a content-wide snapshot on birds population and the birds species' whereabouts. This data helps scientists who study bird species and things like impact of climate or impact of diseases -According to another source, data collected from the Christmas Bird Count shows that climate change has reduced the population of birds. This led to more surveys and studies coming out to show how climate change affects the environment

-The survey released has been conducted for 115+ years making it the longest citizen science project.
