Our appearance matters, that is who we are choosing to share with the world
00:25
Many of us don't pay attention
to what we see around us, yet
we are subconsciously influ-
enced. We let society tell us
what is moral and what isn't.
Just because society tells us
it's ok, doesn't mean that we
should accept it. As Christians,
we should be aware of how we
influence the world around us
00:40
There are others that argue it
doesn't matter what you wear.
Just like a flower, it's what's
inside that matters. “Beauty is
not about looks, makeup or
clothes. True beauty comes from
being yourself.” We should be
able to wear whatever we want,
because our looks do not
define who we are.
00:59
The world has a vast variety
of clothing choices. Just like
during Creation, we have the
choice to make right or wrong
decisions. When we take the
time to learn about what is
moral and modest, then we can
discern what the best choice is.
Not everything is meant to be
worn, just because it's for sale.
01:15
There are some that argue that
because there is a depending
factor on the belief of modesty,
that is the evidence for there
being no modesty or immodesty.
Some wear less than others,
depending on what is known and
what is believed. Different eras
had their own beliefs on what
was to be acceptably modest
in society.
01:33
Just like how a teacher comes
prepared and intentional about
their looks, that's how we should
also be. When we aren't inten-
tional about how we appear,
it leaves room for misunder-
standing and misjudgment.
We dress how we want to be
treated, so we shouldn't dress
in a way that is untrue to
ourselves.
