Josephine Cochrane was born March 8th, 1893 in Ashtabula County, Ohio.

Her mother's name was Irene, who died whenJosephine was young. Her fathers name was John. She also had a sister named Irene.

Josephine attended a private school untilit burnt down.  She moved in with her sister, finishing school in Shellbybrooke. She did not attend college.
