Why is thisimportant for me to learn?

Who doesn't enjoy catching butterflies?
00:25
I think it is important for us to know their way of life!
00:29
Besides,we already know that humanshave a life cycle,I think it's time to startlearning other life cycles.
00:35
Okay,Let's begin!
00:38
This life cycle has four stages
00:44
We start with an egg.
00:46
Eggs are the first stage of lifein the life of a caterpillar, waiting to become abeautiful butterfly!
00:49
A female monarch can hatch 1 - 500 eggs at a time. They arethe size of a pinhead, (very small!)They are normally found on the underside of milkweed leaves.
01:01
Then a caterpillar hatches out of the egg.
01:02
This is the larva stage of a butterfly.
01:04
Some are striped..
01:07
Some have a wig.
01:09
Others are smaller,and sometimes big.
01:16
Caterpillars will spend the next montheating all the leaves they can.
01:19
Until they find a nice stickto hang their cocoon from, known as stage three!
01:25
They spin themselves into asilky cocoon, or they moldinto a shiny chrysalis!
01:27
This stage of their life isnormally between 5 - 21days.
01:35
When it's time,a butterfly erupts out ofthe cocoon.
01:39
Butterflies have a variety, just like caterpillars. Each with different sizes and shapes.A rainbow of beautiful colors. An exhibit of creative designs.
