Animal Cell Organelles- Part One

Transcript
00:00
Hi there! Did you know that inside of you there are trillions of tiny cells? That's right! They are all apart of how your body works.
00:06
00:06
And inside of those tiny cells, there are even tinnier structures called organelles. These organelles are what make the cell a cell! Today, we are going to go to the Cellutastic restaurant to learn more about a few of these hard working structures!
00:15
Good day! How may I help you?
00:17
Hello! Could we have a table for two please? We are here to learn about organelles in animal cells.
00:20
Of course! But if you're here to learn about animal cell organelles, let me take you to our special organelle classroom!
00:25
Here is what we are going to do:
00:27
1) We will pick an organelle and explain what it does
00:30
2) We will pick a job here at the restaurant and explain what they do
00:33
3) We will compare the organelle to the job to understand it better!
00:39
Organelle #1 The Nucleus
00:43
What does the nucleus do?
00:43
The nucleus of the cell is in charge of ordering the other organelles around and making sure everything is working. It does this by following the instructions from the DNA. The nucleus is the mastermind behind the animal cell!
00:54
Job #1 Head Chef
01:00
The head chef is also in charge of ordering people around and making sure everything is going as planned!
01:07
These are comparable because...
01:08
Both are the boss of their crew!
01:15
Organelle #2 Cytoplasm
01:21
The cytoplasm is what holds all of the other organelles. It plays an important role as well! With out the cytoplasm, the organelles wouldn't have a place to sit!
01:31
Job #2 The tables and the floor
01:37
The floor and tables hold the customers and the workers! These also play an important role because without the floor and tables, the customers wouldn't have anywhere to sit and the workers wouldn't have anywhere to work.
01:47
These are comparable because...
01:47
They both create structure!
