Millions of Filipinos at Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) stood against and peacefully over threw the dictatoral regime of Ferdinand Marcos.

What caused the Filipinos to start  this revolution?

The Filipinos knew that Marcos was cheating the voting system and there was a civil resistance. There was violence and Marcos did not make a  move.

FACT 1: Yellow Ribbons were everywhere!

The 1973 song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" by American pop music group Dawn,  featuring Tony Orlando, and composed by Irwin Levine and L. became the inspiration for the revolutionary yellow at the time. Scott Brown. The song's lyrics, which describe a prisoner of war begging his sweetheart to tie a yellow ribbon around a "old oak tree" to indicate whether he is still welcome to return to her life, eerily mirror Ninoy's predicament at the time. To his amazement, he discovers that the tree is surrounded by a hundred yellow ribbons.
