Community can be shown in writing such as "A Model of Christian Charity" by John Winthrop and "The Earth on Turtle's back" by Michael Caduto and Joseph Bruchac where in theses communities working together was key

In this sermon Winthrop shows how the Puritans need to work together to flourish in the new world. One of the laws are to afford each other help"... to another in every want or distress"(Winthrop 1). This shows how each person works together to help each other. It how they would thrive in the  new world. Winthrop explains how they need to work as one further explain- ing the teamwork they need. They needed to be "...knit together, in this  work, as one man"(Winthrop 7). This metaphor is to show how they need  to be together and work together to succeed. This shows community in Winthrop's writing.

How does community show in "The Earth on Turtle's back" by Michael Cad uto?

It shows community by all the animals working together. All the birds and animals"...decided that someone would have to bring up Earth"(Caduto 4). This shows them working together for the greater good further showing the community they had. The muskrat ended up finding the Earth but when they saw her "break the surface they thought she had failed"(Caduto 4). This shows them working together as well as that the Muskrat was a girl which added to how community was important for everyone not just men.
