Split off from the Republican Party
In the 1920's, Republicans dominated the presidential
election. In 1929, the stock market crashed causing
many Americans to lose their savings and plunged the
nation into a deep recession. Many people blamed
the Republican Party. The Democratic Party used
this as their chance to show that they could offer
solutions to the Americans that were deeply affected..
The death of George Floyd triggered
a separation of beliefs between the two
parties. In which, republicans were
fighting for police and the law. But,
Democrats wanted justice and respect
for human life.
