1. Call for help; notify surgeon, tell to bring needed supplies in client’s room. 2. Stay with the client. 3. While waiting for supplies to arrive, place pt in a low-Fowler’s position with the knees bent. 4. Cover wound with sterile NS dressing. 5. Take VS & monitor pt closely for signs of shock. 6. Prepare ct for surgery as necessary. 7. Document occurrence, actions taken, pt's response. Ambulatory
