God sends Moses to save the Israelites from Pharaoh

But Moses says to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”

God  then assures Moses He will with Him and the sign God gives is that the israelites will Worship God at this Mountain; Mt. Horeb.

Then Moses says to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them ?

God says to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, u ‘I AM has sent me to you.

And God goes ahead to tell Moses what He should tell the Israelites and Pharaoh

Chapter 3 ends with God promising Moses that He will Surely Save the Israelites;

V20 "So I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all the wonders that I will do in it; after that he will let you go.

Chapter 4 begins with Moses stating to God

“But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, ‘The LORD did not appear to you.’

God responds by showing Moses some signs, and he instructs him to do the signs if the people will not believe Him

Moses responds, by saying, He is not eloquent.

God responds "Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind?  Is it not I, the LORD?"

Moses responds "Please send someone else!"

God is angered by Moses and eventually sends Moses with Aaron, his brother, who will speak on behalf of Moses and God Promises to be with their mouths and to teach them all they need to do

What do we learn

Salvation belongs to God- God keeps assuring Moses that He will save the Israelites

God is patient- we see how patient He is with Moses just as He is patient with us

God is faithful- He keeps His promise of saving the Israelites

God uses a weak man, Moses, to lead the Israelites. Just like He does with us
