Emerson explains how in nature he feels free and that it is the purest form. "There I feel that nothing can befall me in life,—no disgrace, no calamity, which nature cannot repair"(Emerson 9). He shows how it helps him feel free. In nature he is his truest self not bond by society, culture, and norms  as others would be.
