Where is Brazil Brazil is located in South America. Fun Fact:It is the largest country in the southern hemisphere.

The culture in Brazil is mostly western and it is obtained from European Portuguese culture

Brazilian people are known for its love of dance and music.

They even have music festivals regularly.

Brazil was actually discovered in 1500.

Pedro Alvares Cabral said Brazil was part of his country when it really was not.

But in 1822 brazil was finally free from Portuguese claiming brazil was theirs.

Sadly in 1964 a Military took over Brazilian government.

They were free from the dictatorship 21 years later in 1985.

The most spoken language in Brazil is Portuguese.

The reason why Brazilians speak portuguese is because Brazil was colonized by Portugal.

Many other languages are spoken but Portuguese is the most spoken and/or popular.

Catholicism has been Brazil's and its people’s main religion since

the beginning of the 16th century.

It was brought to the Native Brazilians attention’s by Jesuits missionaries.

During colonial times, there was no freedom of religion for the people of Brazil.

So it been their religion from then all the way till now.

Brazil is a Constitutional republic type of government.

The current president is Jair Bolsonaro. Brazil was a dictatorship type of government

for 21 years. This was from 1 April 1964 to 15 March 1985.

Brazil is a developing mixed economy with a large group of poor or financially unstable people.

A big amount of Brazil's economy is Market economy but some parts of it is controlled

by the government.

Brazil has about ⅓ of the world’s coffee beans. The money is called Brazilian Real.

In Brazil values are very important.

They often believe that it is important to respect your elders.

Being honest, trustworthy,respectful, and patience are also one of the values

In brazil, is is a must for children 6 to 14 to go to school.

The nine years of school is called the Fundamental Education or Ensino Fundamental.

The secondary is 15 to 17 years old.

Brazil has free education until the postgraduate level.

You have to pay for college just like the U.S.A.
