Racial profiling, a longstanding and disheartening national problem that still prevails in America today. Racial profiling is illegal, as it violates the U.S. Constitutions’ premises of equal rights and protection under the law. It is the discriminatory practice by law enforcement officials of targeting citizens for suspicion of crime based on the individual’s race, ethnicity religion, or national origin.

Why Racial Profiling is a Problem!

Victims of racial profiling have their dignity andliberty taken from them. These citizens are stopped, searched, arrested, and detained in custody. In extreme cases, they are tortured, harmed, andkilled.  Racial profiling occurs everyday across the United States. Philando Castile from Minneapolis, Minnesota was shot 7 times and killed because of a broken tail light. Darren Martin, a former Obama White House staffer, was movinginto his new NYC apartment when the police was called because someone thought he was an armed burglar.
