It is considered that the great poet, Saint Kabir Das, was born in the month of Jyestha on Purnima in the year 1440.

He was brought up in a family of Muslim julahas or weavers settled in or near the city of Benares (Varanasi)

According to Islam, the meaning of the Kabir is something very big and great.

His ideas of a vast collection of verses called sakhis and pads said to have been composed by him and sung by wandering bhajan singers.

One of his pads is "Kaal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so ab Pal mein pralaya hoyegi, bahuri karega kab”

The pad before shown means: Describing the importance of time, Kabir Das ji says that whatever you have to do tomorrow, do it today and whatever you have to do today, do it now, life will end in no time, then what will you be able to do !!

1)It is considered that he got all his spiritual training from his Guru named, Ramananda, in his early childhood. 2) he became a well-known disciple of guru Ramananda. 3) There is no clue of the birth parent of the Kabir Das as he was founded in Lehartara, a small town in Varanasi by the Niru and Nima (his caretaker parents). 4) His parents were extremely poor and uneducated but they heartily adopted the little baby .
