1.Mass Structures are strucures that are made by piling up materials, the advantage of making structures this way is that the structure will be held firmly in place by its own weight.  It dosen't matter that much if little pieces are broken off so these structures can last a while

Lots of houses that are made havea frame structure. They have a skeleton of  very strong materials, which supports the  weight of the roof and covering materials. Most of the building is left empty but extra walls can be added and they have to be but they do not need to be particularly strong because the load-bearing framework supports the structure and everything in it.

 Igloo's, eggs, pots, all of these areshell structures because their strongand hollow. Shell structures keep their shape and support loads evenwithout a frame or solid mass of materials inside. There are 2 usefulfeatures that shell structures have1. They are complete empty so there is a lot of space 2. There thin so they don't use alot of materials
