How can you help your loved one with Substance Abuse?

Do: Gain their trust. They are more  likely to listen

Don't:  Threaten them or use "tough love"

Do:  Let them know of nearby Recovery Facilities

Don't: Make them feel less of a person because of their illness

Do:  Make them feel loved and heard

Don't: Expect immediate change. Recovery takes time and there will always be some type of setbacks.
