I am a sylviculture trainer
at Centre Forestier,
in France
00:10
I designed a training course on
Sustainable Forest Management
& Certifications
00:12
Through the BLEFT project
and the support of
the Erasmus+ programme
00:17
Now that we know each other,
let me present to you
my training course
and why and how I designed it
00:25
Observation 1 : forestry needs a sustainable forest management to keep on with its activity
00:33
My answer : sustainable forest management is
in many countries in Europe mandatory,
due to environmental concerns.
But it also serves foresters,
who are ensuring the future of their jobs
through sustainable management.
00:42
Observation 2 – a growing demand for environmentally responsible products
00:50
My answer :
the forestry and wood industry
need to prove their SFM commitment
to the consumers.
The solution is SFM certifications
such as PEFC and FSC
00:59
The "Sustainable forest management
and certification systems" training course
promotes sustainable forest management
and forest certifications,
as its name suggests,
by providing forestry professionals
with knowledge on these subjects
in a simple and fun way,
using innovative teaching tools.
01:10
Thanks to the training course,
the ( future & current) professionals
will have a better knowledge of SFM
and will be able to have this commitment certified.
They will also have all the information they need to
make their sustainable forest management
a long-term commitment.
01:24
The issue : Currently, sustainable forest management
and forest certification are too often seen
as a hindrance to the profitability of the company.
01:27
The solution : In this training course,
we recontextualise these principles
and present them for what they are:
a real opportunity for forestry companies.
01:36
The "Sustainable forest management
and certification systems" course
is a blended learning course
developed within the framework
of the Erasmus+ project "BLEFT".
