Discussion - 27 Brother has a doubt, as to how to get rid of the vasanas to experience the Self which is beyond the pluralistic spread of the vasana tree called samsara. Intellect explains how the vasanas are created and that they can be exhausted by reversing the process. When one acts with ego and egocentric desires vasanas are created along with the fruits of actions. So act without ego and egocentric desires to eliminate the vasanas.

Intellect further clarifies that if you are not a slave of the vasanas but a master, i.e they are under your control, then there is no need to free the slave first, you can, through the path of knowledge and self enquiry, 'still' the subtle equipment and discover the Self. Through the path of knowledge your remaining vasanas are made ineffective like roasted seeds and do not hinder your progress. In any case vasanas have to be controlled and made impotent for discovering the Self.

Intellect tells brother that your doubts arise from your persisting in the dualistic thinking. You enquire about how to get rid of the impressions. In the non dual state there are no impressions nor any doubts can arise. When you transcend, all impressions and doubts are dispelled, and you are united with the non dual state or Brahman, which cannot be described. In that state of bliss, there is nothing to hold or let go. So overcome dualistic thinking and go for direct path of self enquiry.
