Discussion - 29 Since intellect and brother are in the same body, and intellect is subtler, he declares that, we will be free. So, asks brother to become silent and if is unable to do so, to speak only the truth. Intellect knows that we dissipate our energies in wasteful expenditure which can easily be avoided if we are clear about the goal of supreme achievement.
00:42
Intellect guides brother about speaking; when to speak, to whom to speak, and what to speak, to conserve energy. He tells him to only speak if what you speak is truthful, beneficial and agreeable. Any words spoken which do not take you closer to your goal, are wasteful and should be avoided. Even truthful words are false if they do not promote the good. Also there should be unity in thought, speech and action.
01:14
Finally intellect says, that even in truthful words, where there is agency, like 'I did' or 'others did', they result in falsehood as the very notion of agency is false and very difficult to eradicate. Doesn't Geeta roar that it is the nature that acts? Also if one thinks that the Self does he has not understood at all. So lets not manage our falsehoods but get rid of it by abiding in that Self which alone IS. Rest is not.
