Main Goals
00:13
- Wanted a smaller and more decentralized government so they formed the Democratic Republican Party. - Balanced government system.
00:14
- Favored state rights and the beliefs of farmers and rural landowners.

Jefferson: Placed his trust in people as governors. Hamilton: Believed that the federal government should wield considerable power. Their differences helped give ideas to help Washington lead the nation. Both Jefferson and Hamilton gave very different opinions but helpful in their own ways. Gave voice to both sides to make the people happy.

Washington felt that disagreements between political parties weakened the nation and he didn’t want that. He also stated that one party could take control of the other which would create major issues in our nation. They would divide the people and our nation as a whole.
00:22
The republican party today supports acts of conservatism, traditional values, low degree of government interference and support of the private sector. Just like the Democratic-Republicans. Republicans want the people to have more of a say and not let the government control. They both believe in states rights and traditional values. The Democratic Republicans helped create a more decentralized government system for our nation.
00:26
Political parties mostly add to the division of our country. There’s “the left” and “the right”. Which today is our democrats and republicans. Both sides have very different views and strongly stick with their side always. This creates controversy, fighting and major issues in our nation.
00:32
- Gun Control vs Gun Rights (After school shootings, gun violence etc… Democrats believe that there should be gun control and people shouldn’t be able to open carry while Republicans believe that there should be gun rights and people should be able to carry if they pass the proper testing/training.) - Black Lives Matter vs All Lives Matter (Democrats believe strongly in BLM movements/protests while Republicans believe that All Lives Matter.) - Pro Abortion vs Anti Abortion (Democrats believe “your body your choice” while Republicans believe that you shouldn’t be able to kill a child.)
