What's in the Edu Free plan?

Understand how to use Moovly for educational purposes

The education version of Moovly provides a free educational plan, called Edu Free. This plan is available to teachers, students, professors and other individual professionals working in K-12 (elementary schools, middle schools, high schools) and colleges/universities.

This education plan has more capabilities than the Free plan and has many of the features of the paid subscription plans, except for the following:

  • All downloads are in SD, not HD
  • Exported videos (published or downloaded) include a Moovly watermark and outro
  • You can upload maximum 20 media objects (images, sounds, videos)
  • You can create videos up to a maximum duration of 3 minutes

If you want to download your videos in HD or remove the watermark and outro, please upgrade to the Edu Pro or Edu Max subscription. These plans have discounts of 50-70% off the list pricing of the corresponding Pro and Max plans.

Moovly grants education plans based on your email domain. If you have an email from an educational institution (school, college, university), please make sure to sign up on Moovly with that email address - or change your email address if you haven't.

Valid educational email domains are added to our database of trusted educational domains. New users with email addresses from known edu domains are automatically upgraded to the Edu Free plan upon registration on Moovly. In such case, you’ll automatically get a pop-up when logging in, saying you’ve been upgraded to the Edu Free plan. When checking your profile, your subscription will also say ‘Edu Free’. 

If your email address is not recognized yet (you will not get the pop-up and the subscription in your profile will show ‘Free Version’), but you do have an educational domain email, please contact us via the support button or the contact form to request approval and a manual upgrade of your account.

Free education plans are set to expire every 6 months. When that happens, you will receive a new verification email with a request to reconfirm your email address.
